Italian fund to finance best Belarusian student projects to help children

The best volunteer projects to help underprivileged children will get financing of the Italian fund after the 5th student forum which will take place in Vitebsk on 15-17 May, member of the administrative council of the charity fund Let's Help Them Live (Italy) Luciano Braconi said at the press conference on 13 May.
The student forum has been held in Belarus since 2010. Nine Belarusian universities take part in the event. The project aims to join efforts of Italian families and Belarusian students in order to hold humanitarian campaigns to support underprivileged children. Previously the forum was held in Minsk, Grodno, Mozyr and Brest. This year it will take place at the Piotr Masherov Vitebsk State University. The participants of the forum will discuss humanitarian projects of universities. In particular, the Vitebsk university will report on the results of the project Everyone has a Right to Be Happy.
According to Luciano Braconi, the fund Let's Help Them Live has been doing its best to organize rehabilitation of Belarusian children in Italian families since 1990s. The fund implements various projects to provide help to children and disabled people. For example, the fund implements a project at the Senno boarding school, provides assistance to students in need and helps organize the student forum.
Vitebsk will also host the Student of the Year 2015 contest. The anniversary forum will have a versatile program. Numerous charity events will be held on 16 May. The Vitebsk concert hall will host a fair of products made by university students, a concert of the Vitebsk band Street Band and a program of the Italian band Yumal featuring the best songs of Pink Floyd. The first concert will begin at 19:00; the second one – at 20:30. The funds raised during these events will be provided to the Vitebsk social orphanage. Director of the orphanage Irina Isachenko added that the money will be used to buy furniture and replace windows.
The event will be held under auspices of the Vitebsk oblast organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society.
This year the student forum is organized by the Italian fund Let's Help Them Live and the Piotr Masherov Vitebsk State University with the assistance of the Vitebsk Culture Center.
