Call for Materials for the Adult Education Magazine "Adukatar

Association for Civic Education (ACE a network of partner organisations in Belarus, working in the field of Civic education) invites representatives from East and West European adult education organisations to cooperate as authors in a newly launched project, the publication of the belarusian magazine for adult education Adukatar (Educator).

The project is going to be realised under financial support of the F?rderprogramm Belarus, launched by the German Government in 2003, realised by the Internationales Bildungs und Begegnungszentrum (IBB Dortmund) and the Gesellschaft f?r Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ). The project is supported by the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Association for Adult Education (IIZ/DVV) Bonn, Germany and Studief?rbundet Vuxenskolan (SV)  Stockholm, Sweden.

The aim of the publication of Adukatar is to improve skills and qualification of specialists, working in the sphere of non-formal education (in Belarus especially represented by non-governmental organisations and initiatives for non-school-education and business-education, etc.). Further more the magazine might be interesting for all kinds of educators, among them are teacher from professional training centres as well as university lectors, dedicating their work to the principles and values of a democratic and pluralistic society. It is intended to develop the maagazine as an efficient instrument for exchange of information, good practise and experience within Belarus as well as abroad.

The magazine will present on its pages materials concerning theory and practise of non-formal education, including thematic issues like: Education for Democratic Citizenship; Intercultural Learning; Gender Balance; Ecological Education; Business Education, etc. It will include articles describing realized NGO-projects and programs; concrete tips and hints for using interactive-methods in educational processes; reviews on adult education literature and websites, containing further information about specific thematic issues. Additionally it is planned to publish dates for seminars, conferences and other educational activities. In order to create a specific educators-atmosphere we will try to present within the magazine a rubric dedicated to the pride side of adult education, telling true stories what might happen using interactive methods within an educational seminar or workshop.

Texts and materials should be provided as follows:

-Texts will be accepted in Belarusian, Russian and English language

-Texts should not extend 3.000 words

-Texts and materials should be sent by e-mail in electronic files (favourable in the rtf-format) to the address:

-Texts should include the name and the family-name of the author only on the first page, not repeated in the text. Apart from that the author is to provide the (snail-) and e-mail-address.

-Links to quoted literature should be given in footers in a full version; including the following items:

-if taken from a journal: author, date of publication, title of the article, name of the journal, volume / number, number of the quoted pages

-if taken from a book: author, year, location, publishing house, title of the book, number of the quoted pages
