Mass examination of children’s sight will be done in Belarus

More than 14 thousand children will be examined by mobile ophthalmologists teams by the end of the year. The Belarusian Children’s Fund and Velcom Company have launched the charitable project “I See”.

The project aimed at diagnosis and ophthalmologic treatment of children in rural areas started in Mogilev region. Sight of children in 19 administrative districts of this region will be examined by the end of the year. For this purpose, the Belarusian Children’s Fund and mobile communication provider Velcom equipped a special vehicle and provided for operation of a mobile team of children’s ophthalmologists. The initiative was supported by the Mogilev regional executive committee.

The project purpose is to render help in timely diagnosis and detect early sight disorders in schoolchildren in rural areas.
