“Inclusive Social Environment is Useful to Everyone” project starts in Belarus

“Inclusive Social Environment is Useful to Everyone” project starts in Belarus on December 9, informed the “Belarusian Society of Disabled Persons” (BelOI) Non-Governmental Organization. 

BelOI, “Universal Union of Disabled Persons of Germany” for Self-Determination and Dignity” are the project arrangers. The project will be implemented till 2014. The project provides for different educational events. Moreover, efforts will be made to introduce barrier-free environment in the towns of Belarus and put into action the principle of “Design for Everyone” in the town planning and social conscience. 

The first stage of the project id an Educational Week (December 9-12) devoted to the basic understanding of inclusive social environment (it unites barrier-free construction-, transport-, and communication solutions and application thereof, and social freedom of movement of persons with disabilities). 

The project is implemented with the assistance of the Project for Support of Belarus implemented by the Dortmund International Educational Center on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and the Society for International Cooperation.
